Florida man passes out marijuana ‘because it was Christmas’

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) — Police arrested a man who admitted to handing out marijuana “because it was Christmas.”

Richard Ellis Spurrier, 67, was in the sharing spirit on Saturday. He had 45 grams of marijuana on him that he was giving to people passing by 16 2nd St. N. in St. Pete, according to his Pinellas County arrest report.

During an interview with police, he said he was sharing the drugs because of the holiday, WFLA reports.

What’s more, police found a hidden sword in Spurrier’s cane when they arrested him around 11 p.m.
